Accelerated weathering 500 hours as per ASTM E42, with various top coats.
Adhesion test 25 square cross hatch test; no loss in intercoat adhesion nor in overall adhesion to the rusty surface, after 300 hours of salt spray ASTM B117, and 500 hours of accelerated weathering ASTM E42 with top coats of solvent base epoxies, 2 component polyurethanes exterior alkyd enamels.
X-ray diffraction Product changes rust from active to passive stage.
Metallography test Product fills all open areas in the corrosion product, surrounds all loose portions, and produces an unbroken protective layer.
Flexibility No cracking when bent over 1,2" mandrill through 180oF.
Reducibility with aliphatic solvent.
Solvent emission Meets rule 66. Maximum 270 grams per liter.
Freeze thaw resistance Can be applied to damp surfaces at 35oF.
Coverage 300-350 Square Feet per gallon, at 3 mils dry film.
Composition Oleoresinous resin with chemically active ingredients.
Viscosity 86-92 KU.
Weight per gallon 10.5 IBS. minimum.
Total solids as per weight or paint 59% minimum.

Thorough dry 24 hours.
To top coat** 16-48 hours.
Solvent Aliphatic.
Flash point 100oF + .
Pigment Does NOT contain lead, chrome, or other toxic pigments..
Corrosion deposits After the salt spray test ASTM B117, and the accelerated weathering test ASTM E42, there can not be any evidence of corrosion..
Grind 5 minimum..
Drying time* Drying time is at 77oF and 50% humidity..
Top Coat** When top coating with 2 component polyurethane or epoxy, (solvent base) allow RUST DESTROYER to dry for 48 hours prior to top coating.

RUST DESTROYER can be applied under or over any coating, listed below. These coatings meet various specifications. RUST DESTROYER is a universal base primer, allowing to change paint systems. RUST DESTROYER has superior adhesion and hold out against heavy solvent type coatings, solvent free epoxies, and elastomeric coatings. No sanding needed on the highest gloss surfaces to improve adhesion.
